Tourist Ferry to Cultural Heritage Island in Demand

The trial run of the Jakarta Transportation Agency's tourist crossing ferry program from Muara Angke Port, Penjaringan to the cultural heritage islands in Seribu Islands has attracted residents. Moreover, since July 8, 2025, residents have been able to enjoy the transportation service for free.

Aquatic Transportation Management Unit Head, Anthon R Patura said, this tourist ferry system provides round-trip services. It means departure from Muara Angke Port to three cultural heritage islands, namely Cipir Island, Onrust Island, and Bidadari Island, and returning to the departure point.
"On the first day, 40 people already took advantage of the free ferry trial, and 100 on the second day. On the last day, even more will participate," he expressed, Thursday (7/10).

"We have prepared two special ships, namely Paus 2 and 3," he explained.
During this promotional trial, ferry tickets and retribution tickets for Cipir Island and Onrust Island are free of charge. However, the retribution ticket for Bidadari Island costs Rp 100,000 per person.
"This registration is done offline at the ship ticket counter of Dishub at Muara Angke Port. The registration requirement is to bring an ID card because the promo tickets are limited," he added.
Kebaharian Jakarta Museum Technical Unit Head, Mi'sari added, this cultural heritage island in Seribu Islands is very popular, including among foreigners. Usually, they are interested in the historical values and the natural environment of the island.
With this tourist ferry, the community is expected to find it easier to trip to the island comfortably and safely.
"Certainly, this will increase the number of visitors to Onrust Island and Cipir Island compared to usual days," he explained.
One of the tourists drom Grogol, West Jakarta, Milyana (27), admitted he was very happy and helped by the existence of the tourist crossing ferry.
"We find it easier to go on vacations to historic islands. We're very happy about this promotion, so we can vacation for free," he stated.
